On May 27, PCB and laminates leader Kingboard Laminate announced another price hike – the second this year. In April, Kingboard had already raised board and PP prices by 10%, citing resin and glass fabric shortages. The repeat increase highlights sustained material tightness in the PCB upstream.

Copper foil prices are already up 30% year‑to‑date . Overseas material giants have also moved: Japan’s Resonac raised copper clad laminate and bonding film by over 30% effective March 1. On April 1, Mitsubishi Gas Chemical ( >50% of global BT resin market) raised copper clad laminate and related materials by over 30%. BT resin‑based copper clad laminates are critical for AI chip packaging substrates.

ICgoodFind : Persistent raw material shortages and overseas price leadership drive Kingboard’s second hike in two months – PCB substrate pricing remains on an uptrend.
